I have been on Gather for over five years now, and I love it, but the site has some issues, and I address them as I see them come up with comments, but now, I will do an article that I hope will help.
Uploading a video: I have found that mostly YouTube videoes work on Gather if you go to embed, and scoot down to the fourth box that says to upload "Old style." They work here on site.
Photos: I can't upload photos off Firefox. I have to use either Google Chrome or Internet Explorer.
Sometimes I have trouble commenting, and then I hit F5, and the page will reload and then, I can comment.
Finally, I always copy my articles before I submit them. It saves them from the dreaded message: oops!

Sometimes I'll write or save a composition in Word - just in case - because am never able to duplicate and my first thoughts are usually the best!
Yep, always save the article before publishing - saves a LOT of aggravation and time!
if you reply to someone elses comment - is there any way to know about additional replies short of comaing back t0o the post, or getting an email on every single comment made?
problem with following by email, is it tells you nothing about who said what! not even a hint!
and if i go back to my comments page, i have to scroll thru every comment till i find mine - if there are over 100, i usually dont bother.
then of course, are those that respond to what i say, in a whole new thread ............ seems to me that some do it on purpose, so they can brag they 'really told del! and he didnt even respond!" lol

but you email comes in with "a new comment has been added" message.
no "who" commented, not first few words - nada.
