Leap day births are predicted to be higher this year than the last two leap years. Why is it that some moms want to have their baby on leap day? It could be superstition or they may consider leap day to be a lucky day. It could be because they want their child to be unique or different from the others.
If a mom-to-be will be having a C-section and can plan a leap day birth, the mom has to be at least 39 weeks along.
How does a leap year child feel when he or she only has a birthday every four years? Does the child get to celebrate the day before or after the actual date?
If you were expecting a baby around leap day, would you want to have a leap day birth? Would you ask your doctor to schedule you for a C-section on leap day? Do you have your bags packed, as tomorrow is leap day?
Leap year isn't something most people think about too much or too long. Of course, if you happen to be one of those leap day births, then it is quite a big day for you!
Doctors are predicting it is possible that Wednesday, February 29, 2012 will have more births because it isn't a weekend or a holiday. That means more doctors will be working and possibly more willing to make sure that your bouncing bundle of baby joy has a unique birthday.
