Rumor has it that Robert Pattinson's fans won't like the role he plays in his upcoming film Cosmopolis. What's the reason behind this mode of thinking? Won't Twilight fans love Rob in almost anything he does?
According to a report from Hollywood Life, that may not be the case. In fact, Cosmopolis co-star Jay Baruchel fears that Rob's usual fans will be completely turned off by the film.
"[It's] an exceedingly strange movie," he said. "All the Team Edward girls won't be seeing this one, I don't think."
But isn't this sort of a case of Jay Baruchel jumping the proverbial gun? How will it ever be known if Rob's Twilight fans don't like Cosmopolis if they never go to see the film?
Cosmopolis has been described as being 'quite the wild film.' Why wouldn't Rob's Twilight fans want to see him in a role completely different from that of Edward Cullen? Isn't that what fans want to see—that their favorite actor can play a variety of roles?
One thing that could make Jay Baruchel's prediction come true is the average age of most of the Twilight fans. Since so many of them are pre-teens, they might need their parent's permission to see Cosmopolis. And if parents aren't crazy about the reviews they read following the film's release, they might not be inclined to allow their children to see it.
Do you think Robert Pattinson stands to lose fans once his new film Cosmopolis is released? Are you a Twilight fan? Will you be seeing Rob in Cosmopolis once the film hits theaters?
