A shooting at Chardon High School in Ohio has left a community reeling. The school is located just outside of Cleveland in a city of about 5,000 residents.

According to reports, the incident happened before 7:30 a.m, just as classes were set to begin. Although it is not yet confirmed, it is believed that four students were injured in the shooting which is reported to have started in the school's cafeteria. The school was in lockdown before the students were escorted out of the building. Luckily, there is a suspect in custody.
Sadly, Chardon high school is not the first to experience this as school shootings are becoming a terrifying threat to kids nowadays. No matter how safe an area may be, there is always a chance for these things to happen. Reports say that residents are shocked because this sort of thing "just doesn't happen" in their town. It is certainly scary when you live in a world where you have to be afraid to send your children to school, but that appears to be what is happening as more and more school shootings occur.
This is certainly tragic news and details are still trickling in. For more updates, check out USA Today. The site is updating periodically as details emerge.
