Once we focus on one project and go directly to the next one, there is certainly enough difference that you are not stuck in a rut, where you're not doing the same on a regular basis. Another pro is that being an Engineer is really a well respected profession. You are considered a key member of the community and well liked within the community in general. Being an Engineer is neither an inside or outdoor job, you will find opportunities to be either inside or outside, so you aren't stuck in the same environment. Also, Civil Engineering pays a little bit better than other professions. On the other side, there are cons of being an Engineer. As Engineers, when we put together a set of plans or documents, if there are errors in those documents we are liable for these errors. There may beThere might be} significant liability being an Engineer, as well. And throughout an economic slowdown, there can be slowdowns in the Engineering profession. Less infrastructure is built, less money is spent on things we design. So there are periods of time when as an Engineer you are not having a steady stream of income. Another con as a service industry, you can only make so much money. The key negative of being a Civil Engineering, is that we have deadlines, obligations, and duties to our clients providing a bit of stress.
