Selena Gomez dished about fashion recently and her insight is quite refreshing. Not a celebrity to demand designer couture, Selena is as happy in a t-shirt and jeans as she is in a luxurious ball gown.
According to a report from Sugarscape, even though Selena is the girlfriend of Justin Bieber--she's really very down to earth. She's a seemingly normal young woman who like
s pretty things, but doesn't have outlandish ideas about what she feels she needs to buy.
Now this isn't saying that Selena doesn't enjoy fashion. She does. In fact, she finds it fun to pick and choose what she's going to wear.
"I am a huge fan of fashion! Fashion is so much fun. I like to dress up and do different things with my wardrobe. I try to be different whenever I can," she says.
True to Selena style, she attributes her fashion sense to her mother--the same person from whom she gained her strong sense of faith and morality. Selena Gomez gives new meaning to the words, "Listen to your mother." She did, and it looks like it really paid off.
"As long as I feel pretty and I feel confident in what I'm doing, then that's all that matters to me. I think I got lucky because that's what my mum taught me and that's what I grew up thinking," she says.
Selena Gomez isn't big on going super-glam for red carpet events or award shows, however. She does it, but prefers a far more laid back fashion routine.
"I love glamming up for red carpets every now and then, but I can't do it all the time. It's nice to feel pretty and it's nice to get dressed up, but it's also nice to strike a balance because it's nice to be out of the spotlight every now and then," the former Wizards of Waverly Place star says.
Every young girl could learn a thing or two from Selena and her fashion sense. She isn't the least bit pretentious, and she says she prefers comfort in her clothing. Sounds pretty sensible, doesn't she? Do you think Justin Bieber is aware of just how sensible his girlfriend is?
When asked where she likes to shop for her fashion finds, Selena wouldn't name names.
"I don't like to pick specific stores," she says. "I'm more about shopping at random places. I just go to places that look nice and I pick out things that I'm comfortable wearing. Comfort iskey!"
Good advice, Selena! Oh, why can't more celebrities be like this young lady? She's got it together in so many ways. She could be out spending thousands every week on designer fashions, but she's typically spotted at places like Forever 21 instead.
Wouldn't it be great if more young girls would take their fashion cues from someone like Selena?
