I had read the free Amazon sample of Merlin’s Charge and wasn’t overly engrossed. But, I purchased the ebook on Amazon largely because Peter is a Gather author. It was definitely worth the small price and I’m glad I bought it.
Merlin’s charge is, of course, Prince Arthur. Merlin, given no choice but to take on this charge, greatly disliked the task, but he taught Arthur the arts of kingmanship. Poor Arthur, dressed in rags with Excaliber being the only thing of value he possessed was ordered to return it to the Lady of the Lake. But, in the search for the holy grail which had been stolen, causing draught and starvation, Excaliber was once again given to Arthur.
I especially liked the method the monks beat the filthy little monster that was trapped in the grail and I very much enjoyed this book. It flows smoothly and moves rapidly, painting pictures in my head. I was in the mood for a Camelot book and once again, I found myself engrossed and couldn’t put it down. This book sated my appetite.
Great job Peter.
