Whitney Houston's funeral is scheduled for today, Saturday, February 18, 2012, and millions of people are expected to watch either by live stream online or on a news station that may be carrying the coverage.
Fifteen hundred of her closest family, friends, and colleagues have already started arriving at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey, where Whitney will be honored, remembered, and mourned from noon until about 3 or 3:30 p.m. EST. There will be performances by Alicia Keys and Stevie Wonder to name a few. Aretha Franklin, Whitney's godmother, was expected to sing, but it was just announced that she is ill. It is unclear whether or not she will be attending the service.
Speeches will be given by Whitney's Bodyguard co-star, Kevin Costner, and her cousin, Dionne Warwick, who will give the closing remarks. Other celebrities that will be in attendance include Whitney Houston's mentor, Clive Davis, and close friends, Ray J, Brandy Norwood, and Tyler Perry.
No ... I am needed at work & all my attention goes either there at the time or to my family when at home ... not that I have not enjoyed celebs ... time & place for everything ... if I didn't watch much of her beforehand why should I be voyeuristic at her funeral.
