Stigma in Reader's Digest

  Check out the cover of the latest Reader's Digest, which has a circulation of over 20 million. The title is, "Are you normal, or are you nuts?" Accompanying this is a large image of a peanut. The word "nuts" should not be used as a perjorative.
  Mental health advocates should complain about Reader's Digest and to Reader's Digest.

I agree, and your posting this is a good way to start!
post again with links on where to contact them so we can give them a piece of our minds.
POst the letters to the editors link, the general link,and links to all OF THEIR ADVERTISER'S; TO LET THEM KNOW that we will now stop buying their products since they are insulting the mentally ill.
Just because I am part German does NOT mean that I want to invade Poland, and I do NOT hate any religion.
We contact their advertiser's, and they will raise hell.
And give permission to re post That article as long as we don't edit it because that could go into a mailing list thatn will treach more people.
Also, list the national office of NAMI.
Craig, the ball is hiked, and you have it.
Run for the end zone.

They wouldn't knock down people with cancer. They shouldn't knock down people with mental illness.

I e-mailed Dr. Andrew Saul, an outspoken advocate for patients. He has written around 10 books.

Quite a movement you have tried to lever up onto the main highway; perhaps a FEATURE will be some help; also think adding 'photo'[either RD's cover or a peanut more in-line with your PUSH] will get you more views

Howie Carr, who writes for the Boston Herald and is on WEEI radio, referred to the homeless as "wino-Americans". He gets away with this stuff because Murdoch likes it. It shows no compassion and is insensitive.

Carr has referred to the mentally ill as "fruitcakes".
