Madonna certainly dazzled some and nauseated others during her Super Bowl halftime performance, but did she really have to die for it? The latest Twitter trend is insinuating that Madge is dead, but is she really? If the past is an indicator, probably not. Ms. Ciccone is far too resilient to leave this Earth just yet, and she's too awesome for Twitter to find out first!
The tweets that are sharing the tag RIP Madonna are a mixture of positive and negative, and of course some people are like "OMG, really?!" Fortunately, it doesn't appear that Madonna is dead.
This Twitter user said the following:
'RIP Madonna' ? we just recently lost Whitney Houston. Not funny at all, Now is not the time to be joking. RT if you agree.
This guy's right, totally. It's not really funny to trend celebrity deaths so close to a real one. Too many people might take it seriously. Hell, some fans are loony enough to attempt suicide, so who knows if they're smart enough to check to see if it's the truth? On top of that, Madonna would probably find a way to do something spectacular on her way out, so the news would have the details far before Twitter.
Do you think this trending RIP thing is real this time? It certainly doesn't seem so. Just a few days ago 'RIP Chris Brown' was trending and that idiot is obviously still around. Bon Jovi is still alive and so is Snooki and Charlie Sheen.
The International Business Times says that the "RIP Madonna" tag is popular because her latest single is a "flop" -- well, they have that much right. What a crappy song!
