Is Robert Pattinson too old to reprise his role as Edward Cullen in the Twilight series of films should a need arise for him to do so? Rob seems to think the chances are there--however they're slim.
According to a report from Hollywood Life, Rob would actually be interested in learning what the author of the Twilight series of books has to say about him reprising the role.
"I'd be curious what Stephenie (Meyer) would write," Rob said while in Berlin, getting ready to walk the red carpet for the premiere of his latest film Bel Ami.
"I would think I'd be too old [for a sequel]. I'm already too old. It might be kind of interesting — they might recast me," he adds.
Would you even want to see a Twilight film without Robert Pattinson cast in the role of Edward Cullen? Why couldn't Stephenie Meyer simply age the characters in the film to at least somewhat keep up with the ages of the actors? There would be no Twilight without Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, right?
It certainly sounds like Robert Pattinson fully expected that when filming for Breaking Dawn Part 2 ended, that so did the existence of Edward Cullen. Do you suppose there's enough story line left there that could take Edward and Bella (played by Rob and Kristen of course) through some of their adult lives together? Would people even be interested in such a film?
It will certainly be interesting to see what happens with regard to Twilight in the next year or two. Breaking Dawn Part 2 hits theaters in November, and after that, who knows what might transpire?
