Why do politicians like this fool want to take us back to the seventeen hundreds both in thought and action. Could it be that he just wants to take back the power men used to have over women 400 years ago? Does anyone think these jerks are not as morally corrupt as they appear?

1 Timothy2:9-15
Likewise the women are to dress in suitable apparel, with modesty and self-control. Their adornment must not be with braided hair and gold or pearls or expensive clothing, but with good deeds, as is proper for women who profess reverence for God. 2:11 A woman must learn18 quietly with all submissiveness. But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man. She must remain quiet. For Adam was formed first and then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman, because she was fully deceived, fell into transgression. But she will be delivered through childbearing, if she continues in faith and love and holiness with self-control.
Some Biblical scholars think those bits in Timothy are third/fourth century interpolations; they can't find them in earlier versions of the epistles. Some sexist scribe added them later. Cute, huh?
However you regard those passages, 1 Timothy 2 does come close to Paul's views of marriage, and accurately describes the Christian view of marriage up to the 20th. century. Women have only recently acquired legal equality with men in marriage, and are still seeking equality in the workplace.
Other New Testament references to marriage include:
Ephesians 5:22-24
Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord, because the husband is the head of the wife as also Christ is the head of the church – he himself being the savior of the body. But as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
Colossians 3:18
Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
1 Corinthians 11:8-9
For man did not come from woman, but woman from man. Neither was man created for the sake of woman, but woman for man.
1 Corinthians 14:34-35
the women should be silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak. Rather, let them be in submission, as in fact the law says. If they want to find out about something, they should ask their husbands at home, because it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in church.
1 Timothy 5:14
So I want younger women to marry, raise children, and manage a household, in order to give the adversary no opportunity to vilify us.
