Last week-end for me was over the top, yes I know I am getting older, but I am not old. Not old enough to lose friends that are the same age or close to my age...
I lost a very dear friend in a car accident...been friend 45 years...her brother called me on her phone to let me know..I answered it the same way I always do when she called, hey bitch...what it up...and her brother said, I hate to inform you this way, but my sister was killed tonight in a car accident...Seriously, we talked every night...It may have been a minute, but we talked...I am missing her dearly already..
Sunday My only day off, I visited County Market, where another dear friend was the butcher...I rang the bell as normal...and rang it again...this woman came out and said why are you ringing the bell like that? Where is Don I asked...well my dear he is dead...that is how she put it...seriously I was stopped in my steps...what the hell...
Friday Night as we all know Whitney Houston Died...My daughter was named after her, I loved her songs, and she had a few hard times in her life...
But three, three died...three broke my heart...
Marilyn a very dear friend...Do you know what a real friend is? It is a person that knows all about you but likes you anyways...that was her...
Don, a cat lover, a loner, a smoker, a drinker, but my dear friend..why because a true friend knows all about you but likes you anyways..and I loved him dearly...
Whitney Houston, her songs, touched my very soul, she was troubled, she had a long row to hoe...but each and every song touched me...God was her center...she was just plain and simple Whitney...and she was special in many moments in my life...
So tonight I am feeling a great loss...pain breaks my heart...And I know, that I need to go on...Death does happen...but it is getting younger and younger by the day...
My friend Marilyn, 50, Don, 55, and Whitney 48...so sad...

Ellen, I am so sorry... I have a "Marilyn" her name is Rachel and many of my posts refer to the "BFF" - well that's her!! She was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in February 2008, and I thank God that she is proud to be a 4 year survivor! We have been friends since the 4th grade... she is like a sister and a huge part of my family, including my son's godmother... So losing your friend Marilyn along with Don breaks my heart...
A close friend of ours just today lost her younger brother............only a couple of months ago, she lost her beloved husband to pneumonia......now this.......and she even made a remark about death happening in "threes." She called to tell us and so we stopped everything we were doing at home and went over to her house to try and console her, as we didn't want her being alone at home at such a horrible time.
Prayers go out to you at such a sad, sad time.

Plus we have a adopted 13 year old whose had five cancer surgeries, She's taking chem and she's getting so very frail and losing weight everyday. Four of her surgeries were brain cance,one was cancer of the pances and a radical hesterectomy for cervical cancer.
And so glad your a friend on Gather, and brought this to my attention...to put my chin up and keep going, and think about someone else..
