French Stick
Proud Pierre Pumpernickel
was a flour
entirely self-raising
who long lived
mostly stale life
as French loafer
till he met
Cheery Cherie Croissant
on Valentine’s Day
when bred less
Paris suddenly perfect

a well baked pumernickel
with a deep, golden crust
goes perfect with a crescent shaped puff
that melts in your mouth.
And bob's comment, above, ooo la la!!!!!!!!
Love the two well-bred and properly raised poems...
The rest of the day has been to do with getting ready to fly to Oz, lifting off at 6:00 p.m tomorrow from Boston.
I will be thinking of you both!
Oh, a crust of bread and such...!
Ah, let me use the only crust of French loaf I have in the breadbox: c'est la vie.
I love that expression - it is so melodic and just rolls off the tongue. While traveling on the Metro in Paris, I asked a Frenchmen what c'est la vie means. He said there was no easy English translation. But the closest he could come to it was, c'est la vie means that's just how it is. And should be accompanied by a shrug of the shoulders or a smile.

Now, as to the poem. Until Proud Pierre Pumpernickel met Cheery Cherie Croissant it was a bred less Paris for him, but after meeting her on Valentine's day his (sex) life was perfect.
I hope it still is still worthy of being featured. :)
Clever love poem in just the right color and tone.
Lady Bess is a lucky lady!
Let's all meet in Paris. I'll be there in June.
You seem to be enjoying imagery and having fun with imagery in this poem.
