“Do What God Says”
“But this thing commanded I them, saying, "Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be My people; and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you." Jeremiah 7:23
Scripture Reading For This Week: Jeremiah 7; 2 Chronicles 7:14; Genesis 22:17-19; Deuteronomy 11:26-28; 2 Corinthians 10:5-7; Hebrews 5:7-9...
How are you faring today? This is the day that the Lord has made, and we shall rejoice and be glad in it! You may not feel like it...but you have reason to praise God right now. If you are able to read this, hear this, or see this...then you have reason enough right there to begin giving God some praise!
I am saddened by the news of the death of singer, Whitney Houston. My heart grieves for her daughter, her family, her closest friends and the many fans that she has inspired. Ms. Houston had more than talent. She had a gift. She will be sorely missed.
It has me wondering; how many of us are still sitting upon the gifts that God has given unto us? How many of us have yet to go forth and do what God has called us to do? It is time to start doing what God says. It's about time we really obeyed what the Father has called us to do.
I declare and decree that this week's Reflections will be a continued source of encouragement for your heart, mind and soul. I decree that you will move forward in the things of God. To begin doing as God has called you to do. The time for procrastination is over.
The trials of Whitney Houston's life were on display. It played out like a soap opera for all the world to see and make comment on. Yet, she still had something that many people wished they had, and hope to emulate: a gift for singing. It was more than talent; it was a gift. A gift that she used well, and a gift that help to inspire many people and change many lives.
Regardless to the trials in her life, one cannot take away the fact that she did something with the gift that God had bestowed upon her. Certainly there were some missteps, and poor decisions made upon the way. But you couldn't deny the gift she brought to the world through her music. Even the Word of God says that the gifts are without repentance. (Romans 11:29)
I like the way the amplified puts it:
“For God's gifts and His call are irrevocable. [He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.]”
What are you doing with the gifts that God has bestowed upon you? Are you going forth and using the gifts and the call upon your life as God has ordained? Or, have you allowed them to lay dormant with the other plans and dreams that you have had?
In the past month, God has called us to see what He sees, and to hear what He is saying. Now, He is charging us to do what He says. It is time to put our money where our mouth is...so to speak! It is time to start living and doing and being about our Father's business and doing what He has called us to do.
The time for procrastination is over. We no longer have the luxury to idly sit by and complain to God that our lives are not what we hoped or wanted, and in turn blame God for it. No. We cannot blame God for the situations in our lives when we have not acted upon what He has called us to do. When we have not used the gifts He has placed in us. When we have yet to believe what God has spoken to us.
God makes no mistakes. When God is telling you to do something, it's because He has already equipped you to accomplish what He has called you to do. God never tells us to do something that He knows we cannot do. He does, however, calls us to do things that He knows we may not do. Why? Because He loves us enough to give us a chance to exercise what He has placed in us. To accomplish the plans that He has ordained for our lives. He just loves us that much!!!
There is a wealth of treasure hidden in these earthly vessels that we have yet to tap into for whatever reasons we seem to have: fear, rejection, misguidance, lies, etcetera. But know this: In you, God has already placed all that you need to succeed in the thing He called you to. You are not a mistake. You were made with purpose on purpose. And made to succeed!
Yet—many of us have not listened to what God has said to us. Many have turned a blind eye to what God sees. Why does it seem so much easier for us to believe the lies of the enemy than the truth of what God says to us and about us? What keeps you from doing what God has called you to do? What is it that is stopping you from walking into the destiny that God has ordained for you?
We can come up with all kinds of excuses as to why we have failed, or why our life isn't what it should be. We can place the blame on others, our family, our upbringing, our surroundings, our lack. But when you are in God, all those excuses no longer hold weight. Why? Because God is greater than all of that. He is the One that makes ways out of no ways. He is the One that has blessed you with gifts and talents. He is the One that equips you and makes the crooked paths straight in our lives. All we have to do is, do what He says! Be obedient and walk the walk that He has ordained for us.
When God is on your side; who can be against you? When God is the One fighting your battles, you can't possibly lose! You may get knocked down sometimes. You may even get sidetracked. But when all is said and done; God has already pronounced you the winner! You just have to do what God says! Walk His walk and be obedient.
Jeremiah 7:23 (Amplified) “But this thing I did command them: Listen to and obey My voice, and I will be your God and you will be My people; and walk in the whole way that I command you, that it may be well with you.”
If you want a life that is filled with continued joy, hope, happiness, success and all the goodness your heart can stand—then you must walk completely in the way that God has called for you to do. You must be in complete obeisance to the will of the Father. Yes; there will be some hard times. There will be some sorrows, some loss, some pain. But there will also be joy for your sadness. Comfort for your mourning. Gain for your pain. Healing for your wounds. Because that's just who God is!
Whatever God has called you to do, beloved—Do It! Whatever God has placed in you, and has gifted you with—start using it to His glory! Go after those dreams and visions. Don't let anything and anyone stop you or divert you from the plan that God has ordained for your life. Listen to the Father, and DO what God says. God will never lead you wrong. But will always lead you to that expected end of grace, mercy, love, hope, joy, and prosperity. See what God sees. Hear what God is saying. And DO what God says. You can't go wrong with the Creator that created you! He knows you better than anyone, and better than yourself!
I decree this day that you will be determined to do what God has called you to do. That you will be filled with the fervor to accomplish the will of God concerning your life. The spirit of peace and of prosperity is resting in every area of your life: spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and financially. You are already Blessed! Own it! Walk in it! Now go...and Be a Blessing!

Thank You again
I've often wondered what my gifts are and what my place is in God's plan. People tell me I am sensitive and sympathetic. Why, I wondered, are some people gifted athletically, or with beautiful singing voices and my gift is sensitivity? A priest told me that our gifts are not for us; they are to be shared. He pointed out that a person in need of consolation goes to a sensitive, sympathetic friend, not a professional athlete. We each have value!
As usual, your Reflection is uplifting for the Gather community. Thank you for sharing!
Praying your week is going well!
