Republicans are again holding their Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC) meeting in Washington D.C. this week. The normal roster of Republicans speaking are Mitt Romney, Sen. Jim DeMint, Sen. Mitch McConnell, and Rep. Michele Bachmann. What is more notable is that Republicans invite racist Peter Brimelow to speak at their conference on multiculturalism. He's had a lot of things to say over the last 10-plus years.
The Southern Poverty Law Center has classified Mr. Brimelow as a white nationalist. Brimelow, who is a British immigrant, "warns against the polluting of America by non-whites, Catholics, and Spanish-speaking immigrants." Brimelow also runs a website called VDARE which hosts a variety of anti-minority authors.
One such author is Jared Taylor. In a blurb from his book, "White Identity: Racial Consciousness of the 21st Century," Taylor writes on the website, "I was nine years old and knew nothing about boxing, but my eye was caught by a newspaper picture of the victorious Patterson standing over Johansson, out cold on the canvas. I remember thinking to myself that this just wasn't right. Surely, there must be one of our guys—a white guy—who could beat him. Floyd Patterson was an American like me, while Ingemar Johansson was a foreigner, a Swede, but I still wanted the white man to win."
Brimelow writes, "Jared Taylor is arguably the most brilliant of the leaders of what is now sometimes called the 'Alternative Right,' the intellectual movement focused on emergent issues that are now systematically suppressed in America's purblind public debate."
Another author on Brimelow's site is the late Sam Francis. He said in 2003, "America was defined—almost explicitly, sometimes very explicitly—as a white nation, for white people, and what that means is that there is virtually no figure, no law, no policy, no event in the history of the old, white America that can survive the transition to the new and non-white version. Whether we will want to call the new updated version 'America' at all is another question entirely."
Kevin MacDonald is another writer who said, "Jewish activity collectively, throughout history, is best understood as an elaborate and highly successful group competitive strategy directed against neighboring peoples and host societies. The objective has been control of economic resources and political power. One example: overwhelming Jewish support for non-traditional immigration, which has the effect of weakening America's historic white majority."
It is ashamed that such thoughts exist in this country. America wouldn't be what it is today without the contribution of all races. Freedom of speech allows these men to say the things they do, but that don't mean it should be accepted. The idea that Republicans are giving this man a platform to espouse such nonsense is just as bad if not worse.
Conservatives will likely say that just because he's there doesn't mean they share his beliefs. This would be hypocrisy, since during the 2008 election, then-candidate Obama was accused of believing the same things Rev. Wright believed because he sat in his church. Well what does this say about conservatives at CPAC when they sit through his workshop called, "The Failure of Multiculturalism: How the pursuit of diversity is weakening the American Identity?" Republicans invite racist Peter Brimelow to speak at CPAC. Racism is alive and well in the Republican Party, it seems.
