Some people have a lot of nerve. That's the best that can be said about those who are criticizing Aishwarya Rai this week for not looking "hot enough" right after having had a child.
Aishwarya gave birth to Beti B less than three months ago; and like most normal women, she has yet to lose all of her baby weight. There's nothing whatsoever wrong with that. She's decided to take the year off and has no work obligations that require her to be svelte and sexy. Right now she's just a normal mom staying home to take care of her child.
This fact has clearly escaped the gossip press, who are chiding her for not looking as good as Beyonce does after having given birth. They're particularly criticizing photos of Aishwarya from Genelia d'Souza and Ritesh Deshmukh's wedding reception, in which she posed with Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan in a lovely anarkali suit.
Leave aside the fact that there are persistent rumors that Beyonce was never pregnant to begin with (and so doesn't have any baby weight to lose), Aishwarya isn't exactly as press-hungry as Bey is. The Single Ladies diva's all about glamming up and preening for the cameras, and it's understandable that she wants to look her best while doing so. Aishwarya Rai, on the other hand, probably doesn't care one bit about any of that. She's the least likely celeb on the planet right now to want to put on some stilettos and a bandage dress and show off for the media.
That hasn't stopped sites like Bollywood Life from running frankly obnoxious stories asking "Who's Hotter, Beyonce or Aishwarya?" and suggesting that Aish should hit the gym. Perhaps instead of picking on Aishwarya, these sites could instead turn it around and ask why Beyonce prefers spending more time in front of cameras than with her own child?

I agree that she still looks a bit bloated from her pregnancy. This is normal. I've noticed in the past that whenever Aishwarya gains any weight it shows quite a lot in her face. I think that's what's making her look "fat." And yes, there's a lot of pressure on women to lose the weight immediately. I have no doubt that she'll be back to her old self in due course, but I think it's mean-spirited to take the piss out of a woman who is clearly so happy to be a new mother. It's like the media refuses to let her be happy, they always have to find something to nag about.
I must admit, your articles are highly “bias”. I understand this is a platform of expression but when writing on a subject matter one should bare in mind to keep emotions out of it. There are so many things in your statement that are based on your opinion and perceptions alone. I agree, I like that Aishwarya has decided to lose her weight naturally, granted if she chooses to instead of plastic surgery and going thru intense workout regime. But to compare Beyonces life style to hers is a comparison nonetheless on your part.
Your previous article on a website declaring Salman and Aishwarya hottest Jodi was composed with a lot of partiality statements. You did have some valid points which I liked but clearly it was one sided.
Gossip mongers will conjure anything as of late to sensationalize what color underwear celebs have on and still linking Salman with Aishwarya is just the pitt of it all.
Again, this is an open format for expressing yourself but if you are going to write articles, keep journalism values in tact. I hope to read more from you as you intrigued me enough to sign up for this website and participate. Again, this is just my opinion. Carry on.
Thanks for commenting (and for reading). The Gather editors request that we write articles expressing our opinions, rather than just stating facts, which is why you're seeing some impartiality in my articles. I'm sure that you'll find yourself at times agreeing and disagreeing with what I write, and I'm always happy to discuss/debate what I've written with you guys.
In this instance the reason the Beyonce comparison was made was because the article I was critiquing was comparing Aishwarya and Beyonce. So I was commenting on why they would do such a thing.
