Mandy Moore may have gotten her start piping out sweet love songs as a teenager, but she's become equally well-known for her acting in recent years, between a bevy of romantic comedies and a recurring guest role on HBO hit, Entourage. Now, Moore will make her primetime debut in an untitled ABC pilot out this fall, returning to the small screen for the time being.
The pilot, directed by Shawn Levy and written by Bob Fisher and Stacy Traub, will feature Moore as one half of a newlywed couple (the actor starring opposite Mandy Moore has yet to be announced), who moves back to her hometown to run a hip new restaurant - to be nearer to her crazy, tight-knit family.
Though the family centered dramas and comedies may be a common theme amongst ABC's programming in recent years (Brothers and Sisters, anyone?), hopefully Moore will be able to breathe new life into a potentially clichéd plot.
What do you think of the plot line of the untitled project? Would you want to watch a show with Mandy Moore as a star, or will she always be a singer-turned-actress to you?
