With Madonna's Super Bowl 2012 halftime show now over and done with, the talk has already turned to potential performers for the 2013 edition of the NFL championship game. Among the names being suggested by one source are Justin Bieber, Beyoncé, and Lady Gaga. Keep in mind, two of those choices have infamously given the middle finger in previous public appearances just like MIA did during the big concert on Sunday.
Since Madonna's Super Bowl show is now over, the website Billboard.com is suggesting 10 potential performers for next year. They are some talented and thought-provoking choices too, including the likes of Beyoncé, Rihanna, Britney Spears, Lil Wayne, Taylor Swift, Coldplay, and Foo Fighters. The site gives brief explanations of why each makes sense and then presents a poll for readers to vote on their favorite choice.
As of this report, Beyoncé is leading the way with over 41% of the votes. She's followed by Britney Spears at over 36% and then Lady Gaga at 12%. No other choices are over 3%, which is surprising considering Justin Bieber and Lil Wayne are in there. All of the names mentioned make smart choices, although Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, or Britney Spears could generate major headlines and ratings for the show.
Justin Bieber could really have a star-studded extravaganza, too, as he could bring his girlfriend, Selena Gomez, on stage and a host of other musicians he knows or has worked with. Even Taylor Swift is a good choice, as she has a wholesome image, and as they mention in the article, the Super Bowl halftime show has never had a country music performer. There's a first for everything, but Taylor just better make sure that M.I.A. isn't one of her guest musicians on stage.
