Justin Bieber's hair has always seemed to possess a life of its own. Recently, a JB fan site compiled a list of all the hairstyles Biebs has sported since 2009. Then, they conducted a poll to see which 'do fans considered the hottest. The results are shocking.
As you can see by clicking here, Justin's hairstyles have been divided into 9 different tonsorial periods. Although, some of the looks are quite similar, each is distinctive. The first is Justin's original and for many beliebers his definitive hairstyle. It's the 'do the world came to know and love as uniquely his. Actually, it was a modified Beatles bowl-cut swirled to the right side, longish at the back and sides, and covering both ears. Next, came an even longer, slightly fluffier version that looked fuller and covered his eyebrows. Then came a simpler but no less classic Bieber flip. Long on the sides, it still swirled to the right but far less dramatically, and it played peek-a-boo with Biebs' eyebrows and ear lobes.
At number 4, you can see the haircut that shattered the hearts of adolescent girls and cost their idol 80,000 Twitter followers. The Never Say Never star clipped his long bangs and thinned his mop top, giving his hair a slightly tousled, less meticulously maintained appearance. It also allowed his fans a look at his eyebrows and ears. Some Beliebers were mortified, but at least he saved money on hair care products. Number 5 was more of the same--only neater with evenly trimmed bangs, short sideburns, and what looked like a slightly lighter, "sun-kissed" brownish color.
Then, all hell broke loose.
With Number 6, Justin broke completely with his own tradition. His bangs were gelled, spiked, and swept straight upwards, exposing his ears, eyes, brows and forehead. He was accused of imitating Robert Pattinson, but for the first time, his fans could actually look him in the face. At Number 7, the bangs were back. They came and went for a while, and then they underwent a bizarre metamorphosis.
At number 8, Justin entered his "Donald Trump" phase. Once again, the bangs got longer and puffier, and they swirled to the left like (ugh) The Donald's. Furthermore, Justin's new 'do was more of a classic comb over than a bowl cut. What was the Teen Dream thinking?
Finally, in number 9, the Justin Bieber follicle saga came full circle. The classic Bieber flip returned, swirling once again in the right direction. The Trump-fluff look was gone, thank goodness. JB's new 'do was neater and simpler, exposing his ears and one eyebrow. And one more thing: he'd dyed it a very dark brown. It was rumored that Justin dyed his hair to chase his girlfriend, Selena Gomez, who had just started sporting pink and purple hair extensions. Perhaps. Or maybe he just wanted to jerk people's chains.
So there you have them, the 9 distinctive hairstyles of Justin Drew Bieber. As for the single poll question: Which 'do is hottest? the results were shocking to say the least. A whopping 33.43 percent of the respondents preferred number 6, the short, spiky, heavily gelled "Robert Pattinson" 'do. Who would have "thunk" it? Following in a not so close second place with 19.98 percent was Number 5--the short, neatly trimmed, modified bowl cut. Last and equally surprising was the third place winner. JB's current dark brown, simplified Bieber flip garnered 14.38 percent of the votes.
So what, if anything does all this mean? It means that Justin Bieber likes experimenting with his hair for one thing. As for his fans, their unexpected responses to the poll question indicates that they're growing up with their idol and sharing his tastes. Or not. Maybe they just love him so much, they'll accept whatever he does.
