Susan Powell's father, Chuck Cox, knew that when his daughter disappeared back in 2009 his son-in-law possibly had something to do with it. And as the years went by without any arrests, he was almost certain that Josh Powell had gotten away with murder. As his behavior started changing and as horrific images were found on his computer, Cox told anyone who would listen that it was only a matter of time before Josh would do something stupid involving the children. He had a gut feeling that the tragedy that happened yesterday would happen sooner or later.
"We stated our fear many times, that if he was feeling desperate, that he would possibly kill himself and the boys, that this kind of thing could happen," Cox explained to PEOPLE magazine. "If he felt there was no way out, that he wouldn't let anyone else have them. They were possessions to him." Susan Powell's father, who has now lost his daughter and grandchildren thanks to one man, had a feeling that Josh would do something cowardly. And that matches another family member's account of the now-dead Josh.
Kirk Graves, Josh's sister's husband, thought Josh was very selfish and only thought about himself. If he really wanted a good life for his children, he would have committed suicide long ago and ensuring the children had a good place to live and thrive. Many see this murder-suicide as an admission of guilt to Susan's 2009 disappearance. What other reason could there possibly be for yesterday's tragedy?
