My wedding ring broke in half!!!

Is that bad luck? I hope not!

I was sweeping the floor at work the other day, and I heard "clink!" and then "clink!"

I normally don't wear jewelry, except my wedding ring, and at the time, I couldn't think what that would have been. I looked at the floor, and there was a small silver-coloured item. Then I may have seen the other half, but it still didn't register. I thought they must've been part of someone's broken earrings.

So I just left them there.

Then, when I got home that night, it just hit me! That had been my wedding ring!

I'd had it sized & there was a big seam on it, which I had always turned to the back.

So I'll probably never see it again, and that stinks!!!

But we ordered another one yesterday, a better one, with our birthstones on it.

So I guess it's good and bad...

I was just a little amazed that my wedding ring literally broke in half!

I'm sorry to hear about that...i'm not sure about it being bad luck or not...the bonus is, you got to buy a new one :)

i do not think that it was any sort of ome, or bad luck or anything like that---so do not worry.....

here is my theory-----you have been going through some changes just lately....when our lives are changing, our personal energy changes.......and when energy changes, sometimes it will affect material items......for example, jewelry might break or mechanical things might not work right, or appliances might break down.....even when we are going through positive, good changes, it does affect the energy in the things around us....

the fact that your wedding ring broke may suggest that it was time to get a new one-----the new one matches your current energy and reflects who your are NOW....

It's not bad luck. Metal can do that. You don't need a ring to tell you how things are going in life. That's what your craw, heart and mind are for.

Mine broke in half too, years ago. I worked with a pair of pliers in my hand a lot and I think the wear did it.

What a bummer. Was it insured? Some jewelry is insured by the maker/seller if you have the receipt, and some homeowners policies cover lost stones, rings, etc. My wife lost the stone from her ring years ago, and our homeowners insurance covered the replacement. She wasn't sure where it happened, but we searched the house, trash, and sifted through the vacuum cleaner bag just in case it had gotten sucked up one day, LOL. Anyway, enjoy the new one and take care.

A good jeweler would never leave a seam upon resizing it. I'd sure never go there again.

Sorry to hear, and glad you are getting a better one this time. Back in 1973, when I was engaged to my first wife, she lost her engagement ring. Some time later I was sweeping the floor and found the ring, so I asked her to marry me (not telling her I found the ring) but she was annoyed about something and said no. Until I showed her the ring.

I had a ring that did that long ago. They can fix them if you take it to the jeweler

sorry to hear, I have a ring that I wear that really needs to be sized down but unless it is done right I am afraid I will loose it if I splits so I won't get it done.

I've worn a ring until became so thin it broke but not in two I don't think. Sounds like the one who sized might have not know the proper way to do it.
