The parents of Lauren Spierer are reportedly angered at Indiana University's decision to remove details from their website that direct people to FindLauren.com. The removal of the "Find Lauren" category of the school's website has received some backlash not only from supporters of the family but the family as well.
Rob and Charlene Spierer are disappointed by Indiana University's decision to remove the section dedicated to their missing daughter. However, they've done nothing wrong by doing this, and the decision isn't a permanent one. Instead of Lauren Spierer having a permanent section on their site, they have opted to "rotate" a button for "FindLauren.Com" along with other necessary information on other topics.
Lauren's once prominent banner on the Indiana University website homepage was months ago, reduced to a button, and now Indiana University plans to only post the link to Lauren's information on the home page the first week of every month. It will appear only randomly, thereafter. While there is no direct link on the homepage, Lauren's information will remain on the Protect IU page indefinitely. We are disappointed by this decision, as we hope to obtain information from the IU community which will lead us to Lauren. We are still determined to do everything in our power to find our daughter. What happened to Lauren Spierer?
She was last seen on June 3, 2011 after a night of partying with her friends. The now 21-year-old woman left behind little evidence when she vanished, and not much has been recovered or revealed in the past several months. The family of the missing woman still work tirelessly to find her or find out what happened to her.
Hopefully more people in the Bloomington area bull together and spread awareness for this missing woman, since the school has decided to limit its sharing of the "Find Lauren" website.
