Update on Emily

For you that didn't see yesterday's post, Emily had surgery again. She had another Auro Hematoma but this time on her other ear.

It was caused by allergies, and her scratching her ear. This time she don't have stitches to be removed. I didn't pick her up Eric and James' grandpa went and got her. He didn't think to ask but my guess is she has the devolving kind. Either that or they left it open, wrapping it to keep it from bleeding.

Her head is wrapped pretty tight and she has to keep it on till Monday then we can remove it.  She isn't happy about the thing at all and she tried getting it off, howevere its on tight enough she just don't succeed luckily. This time it was quite a bit bigger then the other ear.  She don't seem to be in a lot of pain like last time, however last time she also got spayed at same time.  Last time she also didn't have a bandage like this. Then again we took her to a different vet this time as well.  I wanted to know what was causing this, more then just hearing lots of things could cause it.  It was just four months ago she had the other ear.

Awe.. poor Emily. I hope she is resting comfy.. she looks it in the 2nd pic, is that Eric holding her? she on pain meds?

About all she is doing is sleeping, which I am glad. Yes Eric is holding her in that picture. Actually no pain meds this time. She is such a trooper. She don't seem to be in any pain at all this time. Just real tired is about it.

She keeps trying to get it off but not getting it. I know when Eric called on way home and said she had a bandage and we had to keep it on till Monday I thought oh yea sure. Then I seen it though and how tight it was, then seen how many times she attempted to get it off I don't see it happening. In fact I am nervous about taking it off its so tight.

I saw the pictures on facebook do they wrap her like this so she won't dig at it?
Its to keep it from bleeding, and helping the clotting. They go inside the ear and cut the vessel and burn it off to prevent it from coming back in that area.

oh ok how is she doing?
Doing a lot of laying around sleeping, but doing pretty good other then that. She hates the bandage we get to take it off tomorrow. She started a hacking like choking cough today off and on that kind of worried us but it seems to of stopped now.

she was probably just getting upset about having it on her head and got herself all in a tivy
I am thinking you are probable correct. She kept doing it then when we went over and babied her she stopped.
