Meara Lynn Nichols was reported missing by her husband, Matthew Nichols, on Tuesday. It's reported that the 33-year-old mother was taking the day off from her job at Nintendo to spend some time with her 16-year-old son. She reportedly told her husband that she was going to attend a conference at the teen's school. However, upon calling the school, it was discovered that no conference was being held that day. He found this out after he realized the woman was missing.
Meara Lynn Nichols left behind her purse and other belongings and does not have a car, so it's unknown how she could've disappeared unless she found a ride. According to sources, Matthew Nichols has taken a polygraph test but he passed it and is not considered a person of interest in his wife's disappearance. There are also no indicators for police to consider foul play. Considering she lied to her husband, according to his statement, it's probably safe to say she went willingly but you could never be too sure. Nonetheless, police are "worried" for her but will not divulge why.
Matthew Nichols has a past of domestic abuse against his missing wife. He's even had a charge of unlawful imprisonment in his past with her, so it's easy to speculate that something horrible could have happened between the two. It would be statistically appropriate, after all. However, police say they have no reason to believe he's involved. What could've happened to Meara Lynn Nichols?
