Things Sure Have "Changed"

When this country was founded, there was no personal income tax.

Income Tax was defined as taxes paid by those in business...or companies.

The duties of John Hanson a Black Moor, the First President under the Articles Of Confederation, was to go around to the richest business people and ask them to contribute to help pay off our debt for the Revolutionary War.

I'm going by memory here, so if I don't get this exactly right...oh well.

Taxes on the personal level did not exist. This does not mean individuals did not contribute money towards making this a great country. But the money was not confiscated from them by a heavy handed government like we have today. Each man contributed what he thought he could afford.

Take George Washington for instance. George Washington was our First President under The Constitution. When money was needed to build a bridge or something for common good, George Washington would hold a lottery.

Money would be collected by tickets being sold, and when enough tickets had been sold to pay the amount for the lottery winner and the bridge, then a drawing was held.

We have reached a time where our bully government confiscates 40% of our earnings.

What would you call someone who withdraws money from your bank account without your permission?

A "thief' is what I'd call them. This government confiscates about 25% of the 40% right out of my paycheck. I have no say so about it whatsoever.

We have a thieving government that does not care about us. These Politicians only care about their own pocket books...and power.

Every year about this time I get upset and depressed. To see how much of my hard earned wages have been confiscated by this bully government, and it really makes me upset.

And now I just read in the New York Post that our Federal Taxes are set to go up by 30% over the next few years? This is Obama doing this!

Obama talks about raising taxes on the rich...and then quietly sets things in motion to make the working poor and middle class pay 30% more.

It's all so evil...Obama is evil.

The Obama Crime Family is the most corrupt Administration that I've seen in my life.

Vote...VOTE!!! Vote for anyone but King Hussein Obama.

The Old Guard Repblicans? Nope...I agree with you on that. We need to give somebody with new ideas a chance. We've got some rising stars in the Republican Party. They want to reduce taxes, reduce spending, and get this country back on track. Obama has run this country off a cliff.

The big money interests in all sorts of areas will oppose cuts to their cash cows. How can a President who depended on their cash for the campaign cut their money? How can a President get a Congress being lobbied by those interests be compelled to cut their funding? I don't see how they can do it. On the other hand, the government programs which serve the poor, the elderly, the disabled, and the general public have no such defenses against budget cuts. That is where the symbolic cuts would come. In short, the rich would continue to get their money and special treatment from the federal government and the rest of us would "take it on the chin." I think you will find that is also the traditional way that governments have cut costs.

Remember that foolish video Harry Reid did back about 2009, insisting that paying taxes was not forced but voluntary? That guy talked such circles it made me nauseous. (Well, actually, he does that to me a lot without even talking.) No wonder those who work for the government don't pay theirs.

Bill, Jerry Brown has been a laughing stock for as long as I can remember? It is unfathomable (well, maybe not, lol) that California would elect a space cadet as governor. Those people need to get their heads out of the medical marijuanna shops before an election. I am sure B. Hussein Obama will send financially stable Americans' money to them to bail them out.

Where is all of that "I support the 99%" 1%-Californian actor and actress money? Hmmm? Not so giving when they need to put their money where their self-righteous mouths are, are they? Only in California can there be SOOOO much money with no one there willing to bail out themselves.

I heard a Democrat screaming on Fox News today that no one in the middle class has seen any taxes raised. What an idiot. But they think if you repeat something long enough it becomes truth.

Marilyn, he must not pay taxes, that's the only way anyone could be so inept. Wouldn't surprise me, if you looked him up in the federal employees' unpaid taxes roster his name would be there right next to the other $3.4-billion.

That is if The Bush Jr. Tax Cuts are removed yes.

Sometimes I think that Obama hates this country and this is why, he is trying to destroy it... Didnt Bin Laden make a point of saying, the way to bring down the US was from within and do it financially? What better way to go about it.. It sure seems obvious to me..
As far as California goes, how can a state that has so much wealth living in it be broke? I heard that this state spends millions in hauling illegals to day work, everyday... I think they need to look at all the handouts this state gives to illegals.
