I tried another healthy recipe that a sweet friend of mine told me about and I did some research online to get more ideas and this is what my five year old grand-daughter and I made this afternoon.
We took a can of garbanzo beans (chickpeas) and drained them. Then we placed them on paper towels to dry them off pretty good.
We put 2 large cooking tablespoons of olive oil in a bowl and added Mrs. Dash garlic and onion spices and Greek Seasonings to the olive oil. My five year old Grand-daughter, Keatyn, stirred it up. (I felt if she would help me make them she would be more apt to try to eat them.)
She was so excited to get to help and stir them up. Then I added the olive oil and herbs to a Ziploc plastic container with a lid and poured the chickpeas in there. Then gave them to her to shake up and get the beans coated very good.
The oven was preheated at 425 degrees. After we got them covered very well we poured them on a cookie sheet to cook.
The recipe suggested 30-40 minutes but at about 25 I started checking them. Some were getting very dark so I tried to take those out. I continued to let the others cook and almost got them too done (burned) LOL but they are delicious! Keatyn loved them and wanted to take some home in a baggie. LOL
I was so proud of her for trying this healthy snack and helping me cook it.
I have read where chili powder, red pepper powder, any herbs and spices that you can think of can be sprinkled on the chickpeas or garbanzo beans.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
