Angelica Swartout is accused of murdering her newborn son in 2010, but a new twist has been thrown into the case. Now, the young woman claims that she was never pregnant and didn't kill a child. Do you think this woman is telling the truth or is this a not-so-clever ploy?
This is truly a strange story that is somewhat reminiscent of the Casey Anthony's. Both women have issues with "lying" as it seems, but the difference in these two is that they actually found Caylee Marie Anthony's body. In 2010, Angelica Swartout confessed to murdering her newborn son and disposing of his body in a landfill. However, no body of a child has ever been found.
Now, this could either be a clever (or not) ploy to win an acquittal, but the young woman could be telling the truth. She claims that she was never really pregnant, and that this son she'd earlier confessed to murdering never existed. She claims to have faked her pregnancy to garner positive attention from her loved ones. She even pushed out her gut to appear pregnant. Now, if that's not fruitcake crazy then what is? A pathological liar will fabricate stories on just about anything -- as Casey Anthony has been known to do!
Angelica Swartout could be one brilliant idiot or she could simply be an emotionally disturbed young woman. Hopefully the courts order her to undergo a physical exam to reveal whether she's given birth. That can be figured out by a simple exam under well-trained eyes. If she has given birth and the scarring "recent," she could have very well just implicated herself even further. If an exam shows that she's not given birth, then it would reveal that she is telling the truth. It would really be easy to find out, right?
On the other hand, the photos of this young woman certainly look like images of a very pregnant woman. Her stomach is not proportionate to the rest of her body, and even if she was sticking it out to look "more" pregnant, she'd have to already have a disproportionately sized stomach. That is one sign that this young woman could be lying in court. It's probably a damn good idea for her to undergo a court ordered exam.
