The streets are cold, the night is dark
Got tired of sleeping in the park.
Now they think I'm a ruthless shark
The bite's for real, screw the bark.

The Week 3 prompt at Rhyme Sublime is to write your own rap verse. It can be short or long, sweet or strong. Just get the rhythm and speak your mind. Rap tells a story, expresses passion, imparts a tidbit of wisdom and uses rhyme. Here are a few verses, from 1981 to 2011, to inspire you:
Back to back
And a wild attack.
- Blondie (1981)
It started back in '79
My whole darn future was on the line.
I created a brand new sensation
Through my mind and the whole darn nation...
Sylvia Robinson (1982) (she was the female owner of Sugar Hill Records, 1936-2011, R.I.P.)
Look past the garbage, over the trains,
Under the ruins, through the remains,
Around the crime and pollution,
And tell me...where I fit in?
Grandmaster Caz (1983)
Damn right I like the life I live
Cause I went from negative to positive.
Notorious B.I.G. (1994)
Mental energy from within keeps me higher
Than anything rolled and set on fire.
Masta Ace (1995)
Consequence is no coincidence.
Lauryn Hill (1998)
I committed crimes of passion and my soul was suspected,
But it was thrown out of court because of course the Creator and I connected.
He told me, “Fear not for thou art protected. Your life is being requested,
And you are being tested, so make every attempt you can to expect the unexpected.
It's hard bein' humble in the belly of a struggle,
Doin' things that probably get you in trouble.
Busta Rhymes (2006)
Let's be honest, the cards' on the table:
Jealousy's a sin, Cain killed Abel.
Backstabber...Caesar had Brutus
It's hard to weed 'em out, even Jesus had Judas.
Pusha T (2011)
As the wind made love to the seas,
The sand danced to the rhythm of the breeze.
