The Taco Bell breakfast menu has been introduced, and the company hopes the new items will be available nationwide by 2014. This means customers may soon have the option to 'Think Outside the Bun' for every meal of the day. While certainly not the most health-conscious choice, it will probably seem great to fans of the restaurant chain.
Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer Brian Niccol says, "This is a very important launch for our brand." Will consumers now have to wonder about a new type of mystery meat from Taco Bell? It's bacon! They promise!
Taco Bell Breakfast menu items will include burritos (big surprise there) stuffed with various goodies, such as eggs, sausage, bacon or steak. They will also offer sausage and egg wraps, hash browns, a choice of hot or iced coffee and orange juice.
According to USA Today, the Taco Bell breakfast menu was tested in Bakersfield, Oklahoma City, Tucson, and Dayton, Ohio. At this time, they plan to launch this new menu in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Utah, New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, and with limited stores in Texas, Ohio and Oklahoma.
Meanwhile, Del Taco has been serving breakfast for how long? Unfortunately, they are not available in as many places as Taco Bell.
What are your thoughts on these new menu items? Is this a good move, or is this company more likely to lose money in this venture to feed early risers?
