Capcom announced new characters for the upcoming title Street Fighter X Tekken as PlayStation exclusives. Two of those characters are video game icons Mega Man and Pac-Man.
Mega Man, one of Capcom's best known characters along with Street Fighter's Ryu, appears in the game close to as he appears on the box art o
f Mega Man 1 instead of his more familiar, more impish robot depiction. Not many are used to seeing the Blue Bomber in this taller, pudgier state. However having this version of Mega Man brings a feel of nostalgia for the old school gamers, giving them a reason to pick up a PlayStation 3 (or a Vita when that comes out).
Pac-Man, the pop culture symbol for Namco, the publisher behind the Tekken series, does not have the body of a fighter. So he will fight in a mechanical body to even the odds. Marketing must really want Pac-Man to be in SFXT, at least on the PS side. He's pretty much there for the same reason as Mega Man.
Pac-Man and Mega man are two of the five characters to appear as guests for the PlayStation 3 and Vita versions of Street Fighter X Tekken, which will be in stores March 6 (along with the Xbox 360 version of the same game). Will the PlayStation exclusives be enough to move the PS3 and the Vita? Share your thought here.
