This year's NBA draft is one of the deepest in recent memory as a number of college players are having a terrific season. Here is a closer look at the top players who are eligible for selection in 2012 and what teams could take them in the first round this summer.
Anthony Davis of Kentucky and Andre Drummond of Connecticut are both talented players and they both have size, something coaches can't teach. Davis is very athletic for a youngster at 6'10" and is terrific on the offensive glass, but he does need to learn more moves with his back to the basket and needs to show more maturity on and off the court. Drummond is massive in size and looks like a beast against smaller college players, but he also lacks a polish on offense. His size will make him one of the top three players taken in the draft, but he will need some coaching to become an elite center in the league.
Jared Sullinger from Ohio State has shown he is ready for the NBA with his 17 points and nine rebounds per game over the past two years. At 6'9" and a bulky 265 pounds, he has the size and strength needed to become an excellent power forward at the next level and the game to help any team that takes him in the draft. Bleacher Report has the Detroit Pistons taking him with the fifth overall choice and that would be a terrific pick for a team that needs to start the rebuilding process as the Pistons have struggled over the last couple of seasons.
These three young men are just a few of the talented group of players who will turn pro this year and teams will look for these players to lead them into the playoffs and possibly an NBA title over the course of the next few years.
