"Sex and the City" star CYNTHIA NIXON has gone bald! As in shiny, fuzz-free bald! The actress dropped jaws when she debuted her drastic new look during her appearance on "Live! With Kelly" earlier this week.
Celebrity gossip websites were shocked to learn that the openly gay actress, who is most known for playing workaholic lawyer Miranda Hobbes on the "Sex and the City" TV series and films, had shaved off her trademark red locks (which were actually blonde at the time) to sport an extreme skinhead look.
But why is Cynthia bald?
Well, it definitely wasn't because she felt it would be a great look for her… and it certainly wasn't because she had lost all her hair (although hair loss in women is quite common, you know… just ask Tyra Banks).
Actually, Cynthia shaved her head for a role in a Broadway play called "Wit," in which she stars as a poetry professor who battles cancer and, obviously, loses all her hair due to chemotherapy.
“Wit” premieres this Thursday at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.
