It has been announced that the new bachelorette for the ABC hit show is indeed Emily Maynard. Rumors were flying for weeks that she had agreed, but simply needed to sign the dotted line. She signed and now filming will commence soon. It is one thing that ABC has found the main woman for the show, but it is quite another thing what viewers want. And it seems to be split down the middle in terms of Emily being the new contestant.
According to a poll done by Wetpaint Entertainment, 49.7 percent are excited about seeing Emily find love on the show. She does have a handful of supporters who will be watching every Monday night to see if she finds love. However, 46.89 percent may boycott the season entirely because they are done with Emily. She did make an impression on Brad Womack's season of the show, when she was chosen as the final woman. They got engaged and it was supposed to be happily ever after.
Emily ended up doing several interviews when their relationship crumbled and people started judging her a bit. Why would she be so open about her failed engagement? In addition, she told the story of her father's child and his sudden death several times on the show, so people could be tired of hearing about her past. It seems like she is caught up in the past, so hopefully she won't be telling that story to each guy on The Bachelorette. It would make for a long season!
But in the end, she should find love so she doesn't need to the show anymore.
