Who here has heard of Youtube monetization I am interested in learning

I'm not sure but I think they are owned by Google now. I mainly use it to find songs which you can then convert to enjoy later (VidtoMP3.com, etc.). Maybe it would be in their FAQs or you could just write to them? Thanks for posting this.

Yes, you can choose. When uploading a video, you can click whether you want it on or not.

It's part of Google's Adsense. You need an Adsense account.
Adsense pays you via Paypal or cheque when you reach $100.00.

I've chosen a few that I put up maybe 8 videos. So far I havent earned a cent but I think it will take awhile and it will probably take years for me to earn $100 lol

Unless your video goes viral, or you have hundreds of videos making 10 cents a month, it won't amount to much. You need to sign up with Googleadsense - they pay once your account reaches twenty dollars, I believe. I signed up - I was already a google adsense member for something else - and I had about five videos eligible for this. You cannot use music unless it's in the public domain, otherwise, it's copyright infringement and will be pulled. I had a few of my cats - one called Rook and the Bug earned 12 cents last month. I have made more videos of my cats and plan to upload them when I get a chance. I think your best bet is with things people are willing to watch - believe it or not, cats are a biggie on utube videos. keep the video short - more than a minute and most people won't view it. Google places the ads/videos - I don't know how much control you have over that - but they are "clean" meaning it won't show up on a raunchy sex site. children are always good, too - again, as long as it's not too long. I also had one from the Otakon convention two years ago which as done fairly well, as it is popular among anime fans and it was of a voice actor at the convention.
funny is good, too - again, keep it short. or, something with emotions people can identify with - like finding out something sad or exciting.

all my videos are usually of my kids. Some of my videos I was shocked to see had 70 views and it was just videos of my kids I was like wow weird. If I earn even a little for the videos that I'm going to be putting up anyway then its pretty cool. Thanks so much for your information.

I signed up for the monestization with adsense on youtube and to me its just to confusing and I dont think I will earn more then a few cents a month so its probably not worth it. I emailed them asking how to delete my account with them because I couldnt find it anywhere on their site.

I have seen that but I never sis it. I had an AdSense account but they decided to terminate my account for some strange reason. I did try and create another account, but they will not give it to me for some reason. So, I cannot participate in that. Maybe down the road I will see if I can.

aww thats too bad. I think I'm getting the hang of it now I just have to wait very slowly and patiently for me to start earning money lol.

I just keep adding videos two a day and sometimes monetizing them and sometimes not. Eventually maybe I will see some money for it and I will be excited even if its just a small amount.

I hope you see money soon. I think that as long as they are set as public then you would get lots of views.
