Bones season 7 may be on hiatus right now until the spring, but there are spoilers out about what to expect from the interaction between Hodgins and Finn and about new bonding between Angela and Brennan.

It sounds like there's a very good chance that there will be more amusing scenes with Hodgins and Finn on the show, as T.J. Thyne told TVLine, " After that whole thing with the snake [in the competitive eater episode], I think they bonded. Now I look at him like Jack's new little brother. Ever since Zack left the show, which has broken all of our hearts, Jack's been missing that camaraderie. And now with Finn, I think he's got it." It's hard not to miss Zack with each episode and wonder how things would be different if he were around, but the squinterns, though it was a strange concept—a different one each week—to begin with, have become a big part of the show. Each one has something different to offer, and it's hard not to love each one's quirks—and to miss Vincent when you remember he's not coming back. Still, that first episode of Finn's was fun, and despite any concerns, he showed that he deserved to come back (and not just for the entertainment value of his scenes with Hodgins).
Meanwhile, when Bones season 7 continues, Brennan will be giving birth, and after that, she'll be joining Angela in having a baby to take care of and balance with work. According to Michaela Conlin, there will be "a lot of stuff with [Angela] and Brennan, being that they're both new moms." Will Angela and Hodgins be getting more sleep by that time, leaving the sleepless nights to Brennan and Booth, or could all four be fighting exhaustion while solving cases? It's always a nice touch when there are some Brennan and Angela friendship scenes, and it sounds like there should be more of those as they both deal with their babies. Perhaps Angela can give Brennan some tips since she'll have been a mother longer. Though originally bringing babies into the show was a change that was a bit concerning, the series has shown that it can still be just as good as it has been in the past—and even better at times—and there's no reason to think that won't continue once Brennan gives birth.
