Callista ~ newt's current wife and the one he was cheating on his second wife with ~ was actually his intern during the Clinton years. She probably was trying to keep her job at one point and what better way than to sleep with the boss?

How considerate of Newt to let his wife know that he wanted an open marriage six years after he had actually "opened" it. He didn't want to be an actual swinger, he just wanted license to keep being a cheater.

No, Jim. The slight attraction I mentioned is based on his 17 year old, innocent looking nerdish self and not any ideas of power. Believe it or not, there are some women that shy away from power and the spotlight.

Also, I am answering the question about why the GOP does not rise up in arms against politicians having affairs, not why liberals don't. The GOP will not criticize one of their Presidential hopefuls for the behavior they tried to impeach in a sitting Democrat President.

Since I am not attractive to women, I would like to attribute Newt's success with women to his wealth and power. (I lack those, too.)

Newt Gingrich is the phoniest presidential candidate ever. After having affairs and dropping two wives, he had gall to attack Bill Clinton over Monica Lewinsky. The leader of the "Contract on America" and supporter of the "Family Values" platform is plain and simply a hypocrite.

This is hyperbole. Newt is certainly not the phoniest presidential candidate even in this race. Having affairs is fairly normal for candidates and Presidents, as is hypocrisy.

libramoon, I'm just glad my candidate, President Obama, exemplifies true family values. He is someone all families can look up to as a role model. I see no flaws in his love and care for his family, past and present.

Well Lloyd, if I give you he is taking care of him and his, would you tell me who is taking care of the rest of us? He sure isn't. Respectfully, he seems to just spend too much money and syphon it to his friends and never even protect our rights. What disappoints me the most I'd the way he divides us! Char, have you noticed the lack of diversity in all the Republican rallies? Have you noticed the diversity at Obama rallies? How can you honestly say that he divides us?

Lloyd, All I know is that they do everything to divide us. What about the class war? And, let me ask you, would you rather have food stamps or a job??? Do you really think the country can stand with 50% of the people living off the government? Why should government workers make 3X the wage as a private sector worker with the same job? Maybe there is a reason those jobs are gone.

Somebody has to tell the truth in straight talk, and stop with all the rhetoric of division. I am not saying to single out groups, I am single out problems, irrespective of the group that has it. Rick Santorum did screw up there, and he knows it. Everybody knows there are more whites than blacks on food stamps! If he doesn't somebody better tell him. He isn't my candidate anyway. But back to the division, besides rich and poor, there black and white, RTW and union, Govt and private, and the overall difference between those who want the govern,net to take care of them cradle to grave. Should middle-class Americans across all races be denied food stamps because they find themselves unemployed?

Of course they would rather have a job rather than receive welfare and food stamps! That's a no-brainer. But in the meantime we shouldn't kick them to the curve as if they were never a contributing member of our society.

What the discussion is, is that you can't keep doing the things this president is doing or we will never get this country going. I would think you would see that. He stopped the drilling in the gulf, at normal safe depths until all the rigs were in use in Brazil, when thousands of citizens were begging him not to do it, they LOST their jobs. IT was not even the same kind of drilling that caused the spill. then he went to Brazil, and shook the hand of the ruthless dictator that got the rigs and told him we wanted to be their first customer! Oil that we could have had profits on. Funny how it will be drilled there, instead of here at higher profits by a company owned by George Soros. It goes on and on, he has cranked up the regulations, done everything short of placing charges, which he did with Boeing. Even that. And the other aero company he chased off, Enroe was it. He has given all the corps wives on Obamacare, but the midsize companies he wants to bear the brunt, the ones still owned by regular people, or non union, as punishment to favor the unions, they are also exempt. It is a travesty for jobs! SOMEBODY will have to undo whatever can be fixed. There is so much damage, ignorantly or deliberately done, I can't say which. This country better wise up and ALL of us quit listening to the divisive BS or there won't be any food for any of us, and food stmps will be good for toilet paper.

Char, back in August when President Obama announced his intentions to present a jobs bill when Congress returned from their vacation, the entire world knew that bill would be rejected by Republicans – dead on arrival.

Well sadly, everyone in the world got this one right. Republicans just announced that getting Americans back to work, is not their main priority.

In a memo to GOP lawmakers that was also issued publicly and reprinted in The New York Times, House Speaker John Boehner, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., and other Republican leaders also objected to the president’s proposal for a temporary reduction in payroll taxes, in order to boost consumer spending and increase demand.

Just think about how many jobs and sub-jobs that would have been created if Republicans really acted in the best interest of the American people.

I am glad they refused the payroll tax reduction. Those people have jobs, others don't. In addition to that, it is shortchanging social security. I am tired of them using that to fund their vote buying. Newt has proposed we develop domestic energy and that will get more people working, paying for the social security we already owe. How can you think they are doing the wrong thing? Do you really think we are not borrowing enough? You think people are going to keep getting checks when the interest rate soars?

It's obvious this president does not like old people, we are the throw away generation and he has made that clear. I didn't like Bush very much and I did NOT vote for him and I don't like this president at all it is a vote that I have lived to regret. It won't happen again. I'm hoping Newt will get the republican nomination, my friends and I are all going to vote for him and I don't always vote republican but this time I am and I hope you will eventually see that he is much more qualified to be president than the one we have now.

President Barack Obama asked Congress to approve additional payments to more than 50 million seniors. The Recovery Act provided a one-time payment of $250 to retirees and SSI recipients. Fifty-six million retirees and other individuals received this one-time payment, totaling $14 billion. In light of continued economic hardship for too many seniors, the President called for Congress to enact another $250 Economic Recovery Payment to our seniors last year, as well as to veterans and people with disabilities.

I've listened to each and every Republican candidate speak in regards to Social Security. They all believe that it's a welfare type entitlement program. They all prescribe reducing benefits and increasing the age that one can receive Social Security benefits.

I'm not going to try and dissuade you from voting for Newt Gingrich, but you better pray that he has your best interests at heart.

LLoyd, That's the difference between us, Lloyd. We are old enough to know, what is good for the country, is good for us, that means you, too. That means when we owe too high a percentage of our income, we are headed for bankruptcy. Then nobody gets anything. No food stamps, no Medicaid or Medicare, no disability, no pensions through Social Security, NOTHING. Picture they cut up all your credit cards AND take away your job, and by the way, there are no churches to go to, because they were all lost in foreclosure! We know Newt is good for YOU too. He has a heart, unlike those who would spend your great grandchildren's money. he will build us the softest lnding possible, but land we must.
