Be Prepared Group ~ Let's Share Our Thoughts ~

Our neighboring county has experienced 2 earthquakes in the last year. Granted both were small but the folks in the community could feel them. That brings a scary thought to my mind. If the earthquakes increase in frequency or severity, they would ultimately affect our neighborhood as well. Earthquakes are one form of natures fury that we have not been exposed to.

I own a group on gather called “Be Prepared”. I have owned this group since August 27, 2006. I have not been posting to it as of late, but I have decided to pick it back up and get it active once again. I will be working on this group to keep it updated one day a week. 

This post is your personal invitation to join and post to the Be Prepared Group. The purpose of this group is to:

I am by no means an expert in this field but I do have some qualifications:

• I have taken classes on how to prepare for emergencies

• I have taught classes and given talks on how to prepare for emergencies

• I have given classes on how to make a 72 hour kit (grab & go bag)

• I have had Standard First Aid (SFA) and CPR classes

• I keep up to date with the new FEMA and other group classes that are available for personal, family and community preparations

Why do you need to get active in this group?

• On the group homepage, you will find your local weather for the day

• You will learn from other members, how to be more self-reliance

• You will learn and share what you know about:

• food storage

• 72 hour kits

• What is needed to be carried in a vehicle for emergencies

• How to survive when the power goes out

My words to those of you who do not see the importance of preparation for emergencies is “When tragedy strikes ~ The time to prepare is over!”
