Initially to occur in 25 Target stores later this year, the sale of Apple's iPhones, iPads, and other products are hoped to attract male customers. Target is known as a "women-friendly store", and this move is aimed to attract men into the store for the electronics and then to do other shopping to boost over-all sales, which were disappointing over the holiday season.
The mini-shops within their larger stores will be in smaller cities that do not already have a stand-alone Apple Store in order to have the only available Apple products and bring something new to the area. Target is considered to be the best fit when considering the different discount department stores.
Partnering with Apple will be one of the designer partnerships that Target is planning or has already put into place, all with the hope of increasing their bottom line and offering exciting new products to their customers.
Can you picture lines building up outside of Target when a new hot Apple product hits the market?
