What will happen to Kodak Gallery if Kodak goes bankrupt? I have almost 20,000 pictures saved online thru the Kodak Easyshare software and in the Kodak Gallery. I sure hope I do not lose my pictures if they go bankrupt or out of business. I do have them backed up with Carbonite, but I don't know how I would manage the pictures and my albums if Kodak would close their sites.
I sent an email to Kodak expressing my concerns about what will happen to my pictures if they do go bankrupt and this is how they responded:
"Thank you for contacting the KODAK Gallery Customer Service Team.
We understand your concern and we will be more than happy to assist you with this.
Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your concerns. The Kodak Gallery
Customer Service team is unable to comment on rumor or speculation. However, your
photos will continue to be stored within your Kodak Gallery account. Our primary focus
is on providing the best photo products and services to our customers.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please let us know."
That sounds like a nice response, but it still does not reassure me regarding the future of my photo storage. I know I have way too many pictures saved. One of my goals this year is to get in there and delete a lot of pictures and get my albums better organized. I do have problems with the Kodak software shutting down on me sometimes, but it is what I am used to and I dread the thought of having to move my pictures somewhere else, if it is even possible.
Does anyone else out there use Kodak for photo storage? If not, how do you store and manage you pictures?
I have not posted any pictures on Gather in a long time, but look forward to posting some more again soon.
