'NCIS' season 9 spoilers: What's next for Ziva?

NCIS season 9 just ended Ziva's romance with Ray for good when it turned out he went against CIA orders, killed an innocent woman, and still tried to get her to agree to marry him. So what's coming up next for Ziva?

It seems to go without saying that Ziva's done with Ray for good, which Gary Glasberg noted to TVLine: "Ziva is very angry at him, and she planted that big fist right across his jaw, which I hope people enjoyed." After what Ray did, he certainly deserved that punch, and though it was so sad to see Ziva so happy about her future one moment and then have it all ripped out from under her the next, it seemed like it had to be done to continue to keep hope alive for Tiva fans.

So where does Ziva go from there? Glasberg has revealed that they're going to be bringing in "Ziva's museÂ—her [Mike] FranksÂ—someone who is going to guide her a bit in figuring out what she wants in life." Just in the last episode of NCIS, "A Desperate Man," after learning the truth about Ray, she revealed to Tony that she's not sure marriage and children are even in her future anymore. Right now, she may just need to be by herself and figure things out, and this muse should be able to help her there. Ziva has a lot to work outÂ—she had even brought up the fact that she didn't want reminders of her childhood and waiting around like she did for her father in her relationship when Ray had proposed. For now, it's good to hear that she's going to have someone to fall back on, someone who doesn't sound like they're a potential love interest. Besides, like Nick had told Tony and Ziva at the end of "A Desperate Man," they have to hold on to what they have. That could be just what helps Ziva through these tough times.
