- G.I. GENERATION 1901 - 1924
Term used for Americans who fought in World War II & those who kept the homefront while the soldiers were away - plus the rebuilding of US industries in the following years after the war.
- SILENT GENERATION 1925 - 1945
Term used for the generation born between the 2 World Wars who were too young to join.
- BOOM GENERATION / HIPPIE Â 1946 - 1964
Term given to the generation born just after WWII & included the 14 yr increase in birthrates worldwide. Also part of the counterculture rebellion.
Connected to the Pop Culture of the 1980's & 1990's they grew up in. Also known as the 13th Generation.
- BABY BUSTERS Â 1965 -1980
Describes those born post peak Boomers.
- MTV GENERATION / BOOMERANG GENERATION Â 1975 -1985
Term united the youth culture at the turn of the Millennium growing up with the newly created MTV. Boomerang Generation defines the frequency with which they choose to live with their parents after brief & unsuccessful living on their own.
- ECHO BOOM Â 1978 - 1990
Referring to the children of the Baby Boomers who grew up in world changing events & the raise of mass communications.
- NEW SILENT GENERATION Â 1995 - 2007
This is the generation living in Western or First World cultures that follow Generation Y. Technical savvy & highly communicative.
