It seemed like NCIS couldn't give Tiva fans more than they did considering the storyline with the recent "Housekeeping" episode that brought back EJ into Tony's life. Well, besides Ray returning, there's someone else showing up who could be a Tiva obstacle.
Season 9 spoilers: Wendy finally on screen!
Season 8's 'Baltimore," the long-overdue episode which looked into how Gibbs recruited Tony from Baltimore PD, showed Tony talking to his partner about Wendy, whom he was going to marry. In fact, Wendy invited him over for Christmas brunch in this season's "Newborn King," and though he did go, he didn't go in and instead showed up in Gibbs' basement. Gibbs had been expecting him, and he joined him in spending the holiday at Leyla's.
Well, it's finally going to be time to meet this Wendy who once held Tony's heart, and according to TV Guide, Entourage's Perrey Reeves will be playing her in the episode airing on February 14. It sounds like this is going to be quite the Valentine's Day for Tony. So besides being Tony's ex, who exactly is Wendy? She's "a quick-witted investigative journalist who'll go to whatever lengths necessary to get her story." Of course she gets hooked in one of the investigations, and that leads to the reunion. While EJ may be gone from Tony's life now seemingly for good and that did appear to open things up for Tony and Ziva—until Ray did call, and he is showing up with a marriage proposal in "A Desperate Man"—Wendy could be around for more than one episode. Now that could be a serious obstacle for Tiva for those NCIS fans who want are hoping to see them get together.
Executive producer Gary Glasberg has said, "Wendy has been mentioned many times over the last couple of years, and now we'll finally get to meet her. Wendy needed to possess all the qualities Tony would look for in a woman and then some. ... We hit the jackpot: Perrey has just the right combination of sass, wit, intelligence and pathos to bring 'Baltimore Wendy' to life." Besides seeing how Ziva reacts to this woman in Tony's life, it will be interesting to see what the others think of her. Gibbs knew that Tony would be joining him for Christmas and not seeing Wendy; what does that say about how he'll view this woman from his agent's past? Abby has never made it a secret that she's protective of the team, so what will she think of Tony's ex-fiancée popping back up?
