I had my gallbladder removed 5 days ago.. so, now what? Any advice?
I went to the E.R. in a crazy amount of pain (so much all I could see was dizzy circles of light), throwing up and I couldn't stand up straight or lay down comfortably at all. I was placed on pain meds and oxygen within minutes of going to the E.R.!
My cat scan showed not only my gallbladder was full of stones, but my lower left lung was closed. My query is , why and for how long? That is scary to me.
My surgery team was awesome (I think.. I was so doped up on pain meds the whole time I was there.) My surgical doc told me I had a total of 12 stones, 4 which were the size of his thumb. I have had gallbladder pain for four years, but this latest attack was the worst of all. I also have suffered from a low fever every day (about 100.3) all these years as well.. which is now ENTIRELY gone since the surgery! go figure..
Now that I am at home, I have very little pain expect at the four small incisions and some pain in my middle back from time to time, but nothing terrible.
I have read all over the Internet that eating is going to be an awful experience now, but so far I am doing great with food.
Any tips on living after gallbladder removal?
