@2012 AP. Pittsburgh
In an unprecedented move today, the Pittsburgh Steelers have announced to the Associated Press and WPGS-13 that due to their fear of the offense-intensive Patriots and to the probable embarrassment of losing to (hic) Baltimore for a third time in a single season; they are giving up their post-season berth to the Tennessee Titans. As quarterback Ben Rothlesberger summarized, "we're nothing without the number one seed".
The team's petition now waits for the comissioner's signature who reportedly will approve the change as it is always the goal of the comissioner's office to put the best quality product on the field and obviously, at this moment, with their crying towels in hand, the Steelers no longer represent such quality. Furthermore, it is speculated that seven of the team's twelve wins came at the hands of biased officiating.
The Mayor of Pittsburgh is backing his city's team as a monumental example of unbridled honesty as he was quoted saying, "At least our beloved Steelers openly admit they do not deserve a playoff berth".
The comments from QB Brady (Patriots) and QB Flacco (Ravens) were almost identical with the following sentiments, “Beating the Steelers would have been fun but we’re looking for REAL opponents”.
