Interesting stock contest link Debbie. 500 ongoing contests? Sounds like something for everyone looking to faux-dabble in the market. Have you tried any of these out?

Meanwhile, CNBC has had an annual mock-stock-trading competition with, as I recall, a $1 million prize. Not sure if/when if will be doing it again.

Thanks. I signed up on wall street survivor and found a contest for January called "Mark's Jan '12 New Year Cash." It boasts, $1,750 cash prizes with 3 weekly prizes of $250 and the month end prize of $1000.

I'm still searching the site for other contests with cash prizes. If I'm going to play - just as well have a chance at winning some money!

So far, I ended up joining a contest on http://www.investopedia.com. A local group set up the competition with a pretend portfolio of $100,000. The 7 lowest scores in the game have to buy pizza for the rest of the group at the end.

One thing I've noticed from the stock contests is that you can see what trades the people in the lead are making. Gives me good ideas on what stocks to research and buy for my own portfolio.
