Today would have been your 77th birthday.
Since you left to spend Christmas with Jesus, 4 years ago, you're family has 2 new, precious little bundles from Heaven and you have another great granddaughter on the way, sometime in August! You are aware of this, I'm sure!
Your life wasn't always the easiest and it was marred by illness and financial troubles, but, I'm sure you felt how wealthy you were with the love of your wife and children.
You weren't the perfect parent, but, what parent is, Dad?? We, all make mistakes with our kids.
You travelled to so many distant places when you were working for Nordhouse, just to put food on the table. You were never far from our thoughts!
We had our problems with each other, but, I feel it was because you couldn't bear to lose your first-born. George said, shortly after you died, that he was glad to have known the real you. In other words, he was glad that he got to know the man he always thought you were. As we know, you didn't care for George, at first. It's alright, Dad! You just couldn't bear sharing me with another man.
Dad, I never got the chance to say goodbye to you because you never opened your eyes after your dialysis, but, I hope you knew that we were there for you, just as you were there for us!
You and Mom went your separate ways, but, I've always known that you never stopped loving her, even after she married Roger. To this day, I still feel your love for her.
We wish you were here to celebrate your birthday with your family. We'd take you out for those beers you wanted, listen to some Tejano music, and just have fun with you! For your birthday present, George and I would've given you anything with the Dallas Cowboys or the San Antonio Spurs logo on it! Oh, how you loved watching them play!!!
Your legacy will always be how you showed us to be hard workers, forgiving people, loving, caring and respectful of others, although some of us haven't learned this, yet. I, suppose, it takes some of the kids, longer to understand and learn the lessons in life.
I'm proud to be your daughter!!! I miss you so much, Dad!! I love you and Happy Birthday in Heaven!!!
Love always and forever,
Your daughter, Janie
