Newt Gingrich and Donald Trump to run for President?

I confess I like them both, TRUMP more so, I think he should have made a solid committment though, he may not realize it people are paying attentin, the sad part is his zig/zag attitude. I like Trump, he runs his own business and has a few clues about things, I sincerely would have given him considerations for my vote 100%, I just think he should have stayed the course.

It is curious that a onetime Insider like Gingrich would have so little organizational structure and not have set himself up by now to run in every primary which could give him a boost. My suspicion is he and his loud anti-MSM/Obama mouth are running as a spoiler to draw support away from the genuine small government candidates in the field, mainly Paul, Bachmann, and Santorum. The Establishment desperately does not want any of these three building any popular momentum by decisively winning Iowa and any other early primaries.

Those who support Newt are going by what he is saying now, which is too often a far cry from the Newt of even just a few years ago. Remind you of anyone? Like the habitual liar we are trying to get rid of?

Newt may have suddenly have found God and the Constitution and abandoned his former collection of wild government solutions of the moment. You have to have faith in that to support him, just as those who voted for the Big 0 had to have faith in "Hope and Change" in 2008.

Trump is a definite spoiler. Running as an independent is sure to split any Tea party vote. In case the Establishment is worried that there is truly a majority in the Tea party ranks, as there was in most cases in 2010 Congressional elections, Trump will jump in and become the new Ross Perot for the Democrats. Or perhaps the new Ralph Nader.

Those who think Trump, who like Newt has supported Socialist causes in the past, will restore Constitutionally limited government must also do so on faith based on his recent pronouncements since 2010. His big issue seems to be that China and other foreign nations have been cheating us in international trade for many years, and he would turn that around. Will that really be The Big Issue in 2012?

Many people believe that because he is a big businessman, Trump is in the best position to be a job creator. "Job creation" is a phony issue if in the end it is accomplished by action involving bigger government and more spending.

Only those proven to have been committed for many years to the principle of smaller government should be seriously considered for the anti-Obama nomination. The voters, properly tuned to that, will vote for that person regardless of how many expensive TV commercials the O side mounts with its billion dollar campaign loot. If that amounts to a majority, the USA will be saved from the slide to Global Socialism which Obama's reelection will surely accelerate.

it was originally reported that he had over 11,000 signatures. Now they say he can't even write in? I think we DO need a third party.

Maybe he should have done what they did in Indiana back in 2008... just forge more signatures in to be sure you have enough, nobody seems to care, LOL.

What does having been divorced have to do with running the country?

I think Newt was sold down the river in Virginia. His campaign people should have seen to his elegability to be on the ballot. Is this dirty politics from the BO side or the Establishment Repub side?

They're both agreed on this one, Colonel. They probably worked together... Or it could be that over 1000 people signed more than one petition. In any case, I cannot imagine they have an exclusive law that won't let them write him in! Reeks of controlling the masses.

Any campaign coordinator worth his salt would have at least double the required number of signatures.
