Hollow 'Space Ball' Falls from Sky in Namibia

A strange, metallic space ball fell out of the sky in Namibia, and authorities are not sure what it is or where it came from. Both NASA and the European space agency were contacted to figure out what the unusual sphere is.

The hollow space ball is 43 inches around and 14 inches across and weighed 13 pounds. It was discovered in a village that is 480 miles from the Namibian capital of Windhoek. It may have been the result of small explosions heard in the village a few days before the hollow ball was found.

While the unusual ball did not appear to be a danger to the village, it is still unclear where it came from. Apparently several such things have fallen from the sky in Africa, Australia, and Latin America over the past two decades. How bizarre.

What do you think this space ball is? Why would it randomly fall from the sky in rural areas? Maybe it fell from an airplane or something like that. If that was the case, though, you would think authorities could solve the case.

Yes. It doesn't really seem extraterrestrial to me, but it is really weird isn't it?

It looks like a float. It has two loops on the ends to attach to a cable, and markings around the middle as it had been in the water floating and get brushed up against by other floating things on the water's surface.
