Gingrich Assaulted by 99 Percenters at Campaign...

December 21, 2011. Mount Pleasant, Iowa. While making a campaign stop with his wife in Iowa this morning, GOP Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich was assailed by protesters in front of a shocked and frozen crowd. Captured on video by CNBC only moments ago and broadcast as a breaking news story on the financial cable network, two waves of demonstrators rushed Gingrich, screaming so loud, their words were barely understandable. Totally unacceptable behavior. I condemn such actions no matter what they are protesting.

Concur, Larry. I may agree that what's going on between Washington, DC and Wallstreet is wrong, but this is not how you get this stuff fixed. You have to offer genuine solutions (which is something that neither the 99% movement nor the Occupy movement have yet done). All this will do is solidify opponents of the movement and create new ones appalled at the behavior of a few radicals.

Unhelpful and furthermore actually destructive to the movement in question. I hope they intended the second and third order effects. Because I expect that the movement is going to get sufficient bad press that it will soon become synonymous with criminal etc.

In fact, it's so stupid one would think it was sponsored by Gingrich since it will help him far more than it will hurt him.

One can offer solutions but one will be ignored. (Personal experience.) Somehow one needs to have the solution idea "sneak up on" the protestors.

I have to admit, this one made me cringe a little to watch. While I support the Occupy cause, especially their always-peaceful street demonstrations, this one seemed to cross the line, both by invading the man's personal space, as well as the first protester who seemed to be physically forcing his way closer to Newt.
